So Ty is 4. I can't believe it where did the time go. This years party was at the YMCA with a hip-hop/super hero dance party theme. We also got a pool which Ty has been happily swimming in since it was installed. It almost makes the destroyed backyard and all the hoops worth it.

What to do on a snowy Saturday morning? Hunt for Silver Doubloons (quarters wrapped in tinfoil) of course. Ty actually did pretty good following the map and finding the little treasures. He is definitely our little puzzle solver.  [more]

Snow Day(s) - January 2014

Ty's just getting into the snow. His attention span lasts about 5 mins as he jumps from shoveling, to building a snowman, to eating the snow, to building a fort, throwing snowballs, and then finally sledding. Lucky for us we have a small hill on the side of our house and just enough snow to keep him busy. One consistent is that Ty loves to help out...whether shoveling or helping stack wood for Aunt Ashley and Uncle Stevo. I do think we are ready for spring though :) [more]

We had a wonderful holiday season and I hope you did too. I can't believe another year has gone and it's 2014 already. I have to say having a 3 year old truly makes you believe in the Christmas spirit. Ty loved the whole thing.... the lights, the trees, the reindeer, Santa, the songs... you name it and he was over the moon to tell you about it. He is also one very lucky kid with such loving family and friends. Thanks to Nana, Poppi, Mimi, Grampi, Aunt Ashley, Uncle Steve, Uncle Mike, Gigi, Pops, Auntie Barbie, Uncle Jerome, Cousin Rob, Barbara, Great Aunt Pauline and Ty's Great Grandparents for making it a season to remember with all the love and gifts. Ty spent the weekend in New Hampshire with his Nana, Poppi, Aunt Ashley, and Uncle Steve(o). They went to the Deerfield Fair and as you can tell from the pics Ty had a blast. [more]

3 Year Checkup - Our Little Man Ain't So Little

Ty's daycare has been closed for two weeks and although Jon and I have spent some of the time off packing and making our way through Doctors and Dentist appointments, we've tried to go on an adventure each day with the little man. Today it was back to the pool at the Y. Most of you know that Ty is our little water baby. He's been taking lessons at the Y since before he could walk and would prefer a bath just so he can stick his head under the water. Today we reached another milestone-he swam for an hour without a bubble or any swimmy. [more]

Summer Swimming

So most of you know by now our little guy is a fish. He loves the water. Being in it, under it, around it. You also know that the little man has no fear. So learning how to get out of the pool if you accidentally fall in has been one of our biggest goals. I'm happy to say, I think we are close. Ty's down to one bubble and can pull himself out of the pool with practiced ease. We had to wait until his third birthday but he is now in the EEL class and learning the backstroke and how to dive with the 5 year olds. Here's a few videos of him learning the backstroke and jumping off the block.

PS - What is not captured on the video is me telling Ty that you aren't supposed to jump off backwards on a block. Who knows....perhaps we'll have a diver on our hands as well - I think he might be a bit too tall for that though.
